For over a year Americas Watchdog's Homeowners Consumer Center has been conducting a national investigation of defective Kitec brass fittings. Kitec brass fittings were extensively used in California, Florida, the US Northeast & in Canadian new residential construction from 1999 to 2005. Kitec brass fittings have been the subject of numerous lawsuits in the last three years. According to the Homeowners Consumer Center, "we want to hear from plumbers or homeowners who have knowledge of Kitec brass fittings in their US State or Canadian Province. One of the biggest problem with kitec brass fittings has been the unavailability of replacement parts."
